* The Packa provides total protection from rain, snow, and wind, for both the hiker and the backpack. The Packa is constructed with 33D nylon ripstop 1200mm Sil/PU fabric (many thanks to my friends at Big Agnes). This is a totally waterproof material, and all the seams are fully taped. The Packa weighs slightly less than 13 oz. * The Packa is placed on the pack as a pack-cover at first and the jacket section is donned when needed without removing your pack. Please watch the Video located on the right side of this page. * Huge pit vents, pockets, and front zipper all function properly and efficiently because they are not under your backpack's shoulder straps, sternum strap and waist belt. * The Packa's huge pit vents and front zipper allow excellent management of body temperature while hiking. Air circulates freely under the Packa! When hiking in foul weather, you no longer have choose between getting wet from sweat or getting wet from rain. * Because the Packa is a one piece, packcover-parka combination, rain cannot run down between your pack and your back, and seep into your pack. The Packa protects your shoulder straps and waist belt from the rain too. You no longer have to endure cold, wet pack straps the morning after a rainy day. * The Packa is made with strong, waterproof, 33D nylon ripstop 1200mm Sil/PU fabric. It is very lightweight--only 13 oz. That's 13oz. for both your jacket and packcover-- Most conventional rain gear can't touch that total weight, especially for a separate jacket and packcover, but MOST importantly, the Packa VENTS!!. * The Packa works best with internal frame packs between 3000 and 4000 cubic inches. A drawstring tightens the pack-cover around smaller packs. * The Packa folds up into its extra large noseeum mesh pocket for storage or use as a pillow. The Packa easily compresses to down to about the size of a softball. * Currently, the Packa is only available in one size: M/L. With my new supplier, I could only order 1 size for this first order. But, the Packa is intentionally made very large. I tried to hit the middle of the road to accomodate "most" long distance hikers. Bigger means more protection, and more air circulation underneath. The sleeve closures and drawstrings allow smaller hikers to cinch the Packa down to their size. The packcover drawstring allows the Packa to accomodate smaller packs.
